Teachers

Teachers inspire, direct, and shape our children. Our teachers foster and model a culture that encourages the PCS community to blossom and thrive. Many of us were lucky enough to experience one (or perhaps a few) special teacher(s) who played a magical role in our childhood and profoundly impacted the adults we became. We are very lucky to have begun our school with such a special influence: our founding teacher.

Teenie MacLeod leads our K-1 class. Teenie has lived in Oregon for twenty years, and spent most of that time teaching in a cooperative, preschool setting. Teenie returned to school several years ago, and obtained her elementary teaching certification. Before joining PCS’s founders to start PCS, Teenie taught in the North Clackamas School District and at Portland’s Opal School. Teenie’s experience, passion for teaching, and magical ability to bring out the best in children and parents made her the ideal teacher with whom to launch PCS. In her nurturing presence, our K-1 children have formed amazing bonds and demonstrate an extraordinary level of caring for one another. Teenie lives in Milwaukie and has two teen-age sons.

During our first year, Patty Kendrick joined us weekly for music. Patty loves sharing her love of instrumental and vocal music with children. In addition to her weekly leadership in the classroom, Patty has assisted us by providing musical accompaniment for school plays and performances. We expect that Patty will continue to lead our music program in the coming year

As our enrollment increases, we will be adding specialists in movement and design.
